Cabin Update

Our mountain cabin is coming along. I have not been there in a couple of months because, ummmm, it is COLD! Hopefully this time next year the windows will be in, siding on and smoke will be billowing from the wood stoves pipe.

Big Buckaroo and I went for a night away date when my mom was in town (more on that trip later) and we stopped by so he could show me what he and his dad had been working on while I was warm and toasty at the Park.

Looking good! The metal roof is on, a slippery job, but he got it done without falling off.

He even has some wood stacked on the porch! Um, the wood stove is in our barn at the park, so until it is up at the cabin and it is cold outside, I will not be spending a night at Rockwell. I have become a wimp in my old age.

Scaffolding has been built and work done on one of the end walls. It is high!

The inside still looks the same, I love it. Look at those hand hewn beams, my man rocks.

We have arranged to have our well drilled, caulked the old farm windows we re-did, and bought much of our siding. Just need some warmer weather. We can't wait to spend next Christmas in our little cabin in the woods.

Staying warm with my cute wool socks on,
The Park Wife

Ah...my husband's lifelong dream set into motion...for someone else. =) We're hoping to have a little cabin in the woods, someday. As soon as they figure out how to run cable out there. =)

I love it. I've always wanted a cabin, or a cottage LOL. Don't think it's going to happen though.
I think yours is going to be lovely.

Exactly the style of cabin I want. In the woods, mountains in back of me and the ocean in front of me. I keep telling him I want to move to Alaska!

Seriously, the cabin looks very good. I hope you get to spend Christmas there next year.

Blessings,
Marge

PS: We're freezing down here in Texas. Might as well have stayed in Minnesota!

BEAUTIFUL!!! My husband's dream is to build us a home on his own. He'll love the pictures of your beams. He talks about beams nonstop. :) Don't know if our dream will ever come true, but it's nice to follow yours as it comes true!

What a neat cabin you are going to have and what a great guy you have to provide it with his own labor. That is a special type of love.

Your cabin looks so inviting, finished or not.
We live in a Timber frame house aka Post and beam, so we have exposed beams. I can't imagine waking up and not see those beams above my head.

Man the cabin is looking GREAT. That is something I have always wanted to do as well, but it probably won't happen. Oh I don't know, don't ever say never huh? Looks like you have really working hard, and before long you will be enjoying that get away cabin and forgetting what life was like before it!!! Enjoy!
